Longarm Quilting Service

Karamu Quilting provides a longarm machine quilting service using a Gammill Classic or Optimum stitch regulated machine or a Gammill Statler Stitcher computerised machine.

Pricing
We charge by the square foot.
To work out the area of your quilt measure the quilt top to find the length and width in inches then follow the example below substituting your dimensions.

Example
80 inches x 90 inches = 7200sq. inches
7200 sq. in. -:- 144 sq. in. = 50 sq.ft
50 sq.ft. x $3.50 =$150.00

Edge to Edge Quilting
Pantograph or Overall are synonomous terms.

A pattern is stitched, from side to side, top to bottom over the entire quilt.
This method of quilting is usually the least expensive.
we have more than 150 patterns available. Edge to Edge from $ 3.50. per sq. foot
Freehand Custom

The quilting is done freehand using designs to enhance the quilt. This may
include meandering, stippling, background fills, echoing or feathering etc. Freehand Custom from $4.00 per sq.foot
Custom Plus

Quilting designs or techniques are chosen to fit specific areas like blocks, borders and sashes, to enhance the piecework of the quilt and will often include:-
Stitch In The Ditch
Outlining
Stippling
Micro Stippling
Background fills
Cross Hatching
and placing designs in Borders, Sashes, and blocks.
This type of quilting requires skill and experience and can be very time consuming.

Batting

Polyester, Wool ( black & natural) and Cotton are available.

Backing
Pre-washed calico.
Quilters Muslin,(cream and tea dyed).
A selection of backing fabrics are avaliable.
